Get your head out of the sand! Jane DID say she was threatened to be shot. She used her hand to show what a gun looks like so she was telling the whole world that she was threatened by a gun. Even hearing people can understand THAT sign! Why can't she simply say, "I have been threatened," rather than say "threatened to be shot!?" Why sign gun???

Of course the implication is that she would be shot with a gun - but I think the point of the original blog is that you can be threatened to be shot without being threatened with a gun. Just because someone may have threatened to shoot her doesn't mean she has been approached with a gun.

what exactly do you think she would have been shot with, if not a gun? a bow and arrow? did she mention talking to police? does she have a police report? I do not believe a word she says at this point, you know?

I agree with you about other translation problems. This is why it's important to have standardized ASL on campus as a starting point for education. Which is something people are protesting for.
